Hard Drive Partition Help

I just added a 3tb wd blue to my computer I already have a 1tb that I use as my boot device but I am unsure as to what to use as the partition for the new drive. I am going to use it as storage for like video files and things I might need.

New Simple, Format, give it a drive letter.

I set it as a GPT but it still shows as unallocated do I then go into new simple volume and create it there?

I just got it setup thank you both I didn't know about getting all this setup. It seems easier than I thought earlier
