Is the SSD worth it for budget gaming build?

Hey there,

So I'm creating a new build that its mainly going to be used for playing games, but I'm also going to be doing other stuff like just everyday computer use like surfing the internet. What would be better as I am on kind of a budget:

A GTX 960/R9 380 (I'll just choose the cheapest as to me they look pretty similar) with an SSD
for my OS (Windows 10)

or

A R9 380x for the better gameplay but no SSD (just my 7200RPM WD BLUE HDD)

Thanks!

Like others have said, you are better to put that money towards a better cpu/gpu/ram, as they will have a far greater impact on your gaming performance. Not to mention that next to no games seem to take advantage of ssds, with the exceptions being the Arma series and heavily modded games such as Skyrim.

It might also be worth holding out alittle longer to see what effect the release of the imminent GTX 1080 has on graphics card prices.

If you don't mind Windows and other applications taking longer to load up. I have an SSD for Windows, and I really don't pay attention to the difference between that and my 7200 rpm drive in my laptop. If you care about those extra seconds, then get it. It's nice, but I don't really pay attention to it that much.

Hi!

Yeah I thought it was kind of vague:

My real budget is around $700 but since there is such a large import tax here (damn you Thailand) it's really around $650.
I tried to make my parts list so that I could play the latest games e.g. MGS V and Witcher 3 at medium-high at around 45-60 FPS, so let me know if there are any recommendations to help me achieve my goal.

CPU: Intel Core i5 6400
Motherboard: AsRock H170 Pro4S
RAM: Kingston Hyper X Fury DDR4 2133
Storage: WD Blue Caviar 1TB (and cheapest 120GB SSD)
GPU: Sapphire Nitro R9 380x 4GB (or GTX 960/R9 380)
Case: Corsair 200R
PSU: Corsair VS 550W (if you're think of recomending the EVGA 500W, I can get it here D: )
