Hi I was wondering If I would be able to use the new GTX 1080 when it comes out, because I was unsure whether it would bottleneck my rig.

Main Specs:

CPU - AMD FX-8350

CPU Cooler - Corsair H100i GTX

Mobo: GA-970A-UD3P

Memory - Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2x4)
PSU - Corsair 750w

Um Alan the FX-6300 isn't even a bottleneck for the 970, let alone an 8350. OP I think that CPU would be better suited for a 1070 but might work okay with a 1080. Overclocking really helps the 8350 heaps and it looks like you can cool it...

wrong on both counts

you really dont want to go beyong a gtx 970/r9 390 with an overclocked 8350

and even then you WILL bottleneck in cpu bound games/online games

look no further than games like arma 3, gta5, or any online game

it's time for a new i5 rig if you want to get a gtx 1080

Gta 5 runs fantastic with an fx-8350. Arma 3 is heavily optimized for Intel CPUs. An FX-8350 Can drive dual 980s. http://www.tweaktown.com/tweakipedia/55/amd-fx-8350-powering-gtx-780-sli-vs-gtx-980-sli-at-2560x1440/index.html

averaging in the 40's isn't fantastic in gta5

arma is not optimized AT ALL, that is pure raw cpu power

you can slap on a 8350 to 980 sli sure, doesn't meant you should. You want the max performance for the gpu power you paid for right?

Ya who doesn't. I would advise him to wait for Zen or try to save up for a nice i5/i7 but until then the 1080 Will work okay with an 8350, if he wants one. Also, I run high and get average 55 fps with only a 280x and 8350 In gta 5
