So when im playing Games, and this only happens when im playing Games such as Dota 2, Arma 3, Arma 2 etc.. the screen will freeze and my keyboard, mouse, headset etc all lose power as in the lights go off.

I have ran memtest86 and found no errors, i have ran memtestG80 and video memory stress test and got no errors.

My personal assumption is that the Motherboard Northbridge or Southbridge has an issue of some sort. Its definetly not Temperature causing the issue because my Graphics Card remains at 30 to 50 degrees Celsius while playing these games, i also tried rolling back my video drivers from the latest drivers but that didn't work.

I dont really want to have to buy a new Motherboard as i'd probably have to get a new Proccesor too since the LGA 1155 socket is not supported by newer motherboards.

I myself am in the IT industry but am just genuinely puzzled over this, anyone else have some good suggestions to the root cause of the problem?

SYSTEM SPECS:

I5-3570K (non-overclocked) with good 3rd party cooler.

Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 970 GPU

Corsair Vengeance 1600Mhz 8GB RAM

Gigabyte Z77-D3H Motherboard

i do feel as though a new Motherboard might be neccesary at some point as i was pretty reckless when buying it because it doesnt support SLI, Only Crossfire and i have an Nvidia GPU...

Hi there, thanks for replying. Got my issue resolved by using a different monitor, the monitor I was using when it was crashing had G-Sync technology and I can only assume that G-Sync was causing the issues in some way, so I've sent the monitor back and had no issues since then.
