If you could help me find some good solutions to the requirements listed below it would be greatly appreciated.

Budget: $500~, flexible, depends on cost effectiveness

OS and software that will be installed(minimum), estimated 2TB needed at least
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OS: Windows Server 2012 then 2016 when released
Software: SQL Server/MySQL, Team Foundation Server, MS development tools, Apache, Java, game servers

Hardware Requirements: [Reused as pc for young mind]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Motherboard: A Non-server type motherboard. ECC not needed. Raid support. onboard HDMI/dvi/VGA a plus
CPU: not slow
Cooler: gaming cooler, no OC type

Case: 4 or more 3.5" drive bays and 2xSSDs

The motherboard I selected officially supports Windows Server 2012 64bit, they have drivers for it on the asrockrack website. The case is silent with plenty of drive bays. The power supply has 9 SATA ports so you won't have to worry about adding more drives. I don't recommend changing the memory I selected because it's on the qualified vendor memory list. The cooler master T4 is a good CPU cooler upgrade from the stock cooler for the price. I selected a SSD for the boot drive and an Enterprise hard drive because it's designed for RAID if you need it and Heavy application workloads. A little over budget, but I think this workstation build might just work for you.
