Is getting rid of my HDD and having just SSD a good idea in my case?

Just want some opinions on this.

At the moment I have a 120gb Crucial M4 SSD for my OS and programs that I use a lot and a few select games; and a 1 TB Western Digital Caviar Black HDD that I store some other programs, all the windows My Documents Folders and most games on.

Would it be a bad idea to get rid of the HDD and just get another SSD for games and files? I've seen some cheaper Samsung ones that are 120 gb and go for under $100 AUD so price which isn't too bad.

I should also note: I don't hoard a lot of files or anything. I usually uninstall games when I know I'm not going to be playing them for a while and I don't mind just re-downloading them.

I also have 2 Western Digital external HDDs that give me 3 tb storage space between them. I use these for storing a few movies, backup game files that are really large that I don't want to re-download, backup files, etc.

I want to remove the HDD because its the only thing in my PC that really makes any noise (also vibrates the case a little). That, and I dunno, would just be nicer to have it all on SSDs.

What you guys think? Good idea? Bad?

well, it really comes down to weather you want the extra storage you get from the hard drives versus the small but faster SSD. If you don't need the storage, than you already answered your own question

Yeah, really, its just a few 3D art files but not a lot. I back most of that up and never really need to come back to it. I don't mind re-downloading games either. I can also back up their steam files to one of the external HDDs too.

Yeah, I guess I have answered myself. I really don't need the room. I keep thinking that a HDD in a case used for storage is totally different than any of my two externals for some reason.

wow okay. 240gb is heaps for me personally.

The Crucial M4 that has my OS at the moment has been going strong for a few years now. I know they eventually die and what not and I'm guessing newer SSDs would be better for everyday use, so should I get a new one and switch my OS to that and use the crucial for files and stuff?

Or does it not really matter?
