I have just added a new motherboard, ram, cpu. I did a clean install of windows 10 and everything was working. I then used the built-in feature in the bios to overclock and enabled xmp.

The PC power ups but there is no display on my monitor. I have shorted the clrtc pins while my PC was unplugged and removed the CMOS battery for 10 min. Doing those things makes no difference. I have no idea what to try next to fix it

My spec is:
I5 6600k
Asus z170 pro gaming
Gtx 970
32gb Corsair DDR4 Vengeance LPX Black, PC4-25600 (3200)

Solution
1. Sometimes BIOS setting take time to change or be removed and a few minutes is not enough time.
Try resetting the BIOS again the same way (jumper on BIOS pins 2 & 3 and battery removed) but give it one hour to reset.. if that also fails, repeat it a third time allowing it overnight to reset. Read it's an old technicians trick they say is guaranteed to work.

2. Try each RAM module at a time on each ram socket, or try diferent RAM module(s).

3. It may also be incompatible or defective* RAM, and made evident by the overclocking. Check the motherboard product page > Support > check the memory_QVL_report
https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Z170-PRO-GAMING/HelpDesk_QVL/

* Not so likely but possible w/new RAM

It sounds like your computer isn't posting...

Have you tried re-seating the RAM? (Completely remove it, then put it back in.)
You can also try booting with only one stick in.

Try to re-seat the CPU as well. (Same procedure, take it off, check for bent pins, reinstall it.)

Did you motherboard come with a speaker? Is it producing beep codes? If so, listen to the amount of and duration of the beeps, and find their meaning at the link below.
