Hi guys, thanks for stopping by to help. I appreciate it.

So my New built PC wont boot properly. I finished the build initially and turned it on, during the initial bios screen it restarted and said asus shut down due to anti surge protection or something similar. It was running again so I took it as a teething pain. 10 minutes later the computer shut down as I was loading the motherboard drivers off a cd. The PC wouldn't turn on at all after that, I had the motherboard lights on but clicking start on the case or motherboard did nothing.

I swapped my older corsair hx1000w into the new build as I knew that was working and plugged it into the Mobo, Cpu and Gpu and pressed start, no problem, cpu sitting comfortably at 25 degrees, now any time I try and connect any other component to the psu the computer won't turn on, even the case fans for instance, the power supply fan starts to move, but then almost instantly teeters out?

The motherboard lights are still on throughout this process.

Any ideas as I am stumped?

P.s. Tried the seasonic in my old PC and I get nothing from that either except for the motherboard lights again.

Edit: build
CPU: i7-6700k
GPU: GeForce 780 gtx (1080 when it comes out on the 27th)
Memory: corsair 3200mhz 16gb (32 soon)
Mobo: Maximus hero 8
PSU: Seasonic 1000w platinum 80+
Chassis: Corsair 600c inverse
SSD: SanDisk 500GB (soon to add another Tb or two)

Solution
Update, apparently using the cables from the seasonic to power the peripherals and dvd drives etc was causing the problems, anything that was connected via a seasonic cable to the corsair made the whole pc fail to start up. I didn't know that was a thing? Each power supply has its own individual internal wires that are incompatible with each other??? How bizarre... I take it the seasonic is just faulty though?
