Hello,

I have a Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016) A5100 LTE Gold (Dual SIM, 16GB) Android cell phone and would like to know of a recommended SD card for this model of phone?

Also, can applications and games be run from the SD card, or is the SD card just for storage?

It depends on the application's installation manifest. Some allow install/move to SD, others don't.

On my Tab A7, I have moved most third-party stuff to my 32GB SD card.

So it depends on the application rather than the hardware?

Yes. The application developers are the ones who decide if they want their application and application data flagged as movable to SD or not.

Of course, the device manufacturers can also decide to be jerks and disable the capability on their custom Android builds. Thankfully for you and my Galaxy Tab A 7, Samsung is not one of those.

How about running an application from an SD card? If an application can be moved to an SD card, can it then always be able to be run from the SD card?

Yes, applications that can be moved to SD can also run from SD. If you have a spare SD card somewhere, try it for yourself and find out how it works first-hand.

Keep in mind that if you decide to upgrade or swap in a different SD card, you will need to move all the applications and games you want to use on the new SD card back to your device before you can move them to the new card, which can be a long and tedious process.

Can someone please inform me if a Kingston Mobility microSDXC Class 10 G2 64GB or a Kingston microSDXC Class 10 64GB is compatible with a Samsung Galaxy A5 and if the Kingston SD cards are a good SD card for a cell phone?
