Hello all. So I want to buy a GPU and have GTX 960 and R9-380 as my choices. Price of GTX 960 is 14,500 and that of r9-380 is 17,500(all prices in Indian rupees). Now I know that R9-380 is marginally better than 960 but is it worth the extra 3k? I will be playing all kinds of games and will consider overclocking. Further I will be buying a Corsair 450w PSU. And I will purchase a AMD FX-6300, so will any of them bottleneck my processor or vice-versa. Please help. :)

Thanks 13thmonkey. So you are saying a FX-6300 will bottleneck either of the GPU's? Further electricity bills are not my concern and I live in Bangalore where it's seldomely hot. And according to you, 3k is not worth the little increase in performance? Further, will the PSU be able to handle the R9-380? Thanks again.

If you look at the charts there is very little between them, so but worth the update.

Either the cpu with bottle neck the gpu or the other way around, but we often see complaints about performance with amd. Can you wait for Zen?

What's Zen? If it's a new generation of AMD CPU, then I can't wait because I already have an AM3+ socket mobo and I presume the new generation ones won't use it. Further, the FX-6300 is within my budget of 8k INR.

What if your budget was 11, I.e. the money you would have spent on the 380, does that get you to fx8? And yes Zen is new platform. If you can, get a better PSU.
