Will my old USB 2 printer (Epson stylus s20) and cable work with USB 3 laptop?

It seems to work but when I do a problem check I have an error message saying it might not work because of this. I also cannot check my ink levels as my new laptop doesn't have anywhere for the CD to go.. Any help would be very appreciated!

USB 3.0 ports are backwards compatible with USB 2.0 devices so it should work.

If your laptop has no CD drive, how did you install the printer driver software?

Also worth noting, you are supposed to start driver software installation before plugging the printer's USB cable in to the computer.

Hi There, oh I just plugged it in, it installed automatically and it printed.. I haven't had an error message, I was just looking to find the ink levels then used the trouble shooter which said it might not work because of the 2/3 issue. I might need to buy a new printer before I buy inks for this one.. :) If I install the driver software will that enable me to find the ink levels? Many thanks :)
