Unable to load linux installation desktop

I boot from my pendrive containing linux mint 17.3 cinnamon. When I boot From pendrive, i reach to a stage where a live desktop appears but it doesn't have any icons, start menu bar etc.

I didn't do that, how do I enter in safe mode? I've added a snapshot . Have a look at it.

 
The general concensus these days since mint stopped following ubuntu releases and switched to an LTS model is to not use mint because it continues to use an aging kernel (version 3.19 over a year old already) and is basically developed by a single person.

Try again with latest ubuntu.

I figured out that, I have a problem with intel graphics drivers for linux. Are there any good drivers I can install?
