I just installed windows 7 today by usb and everything seemed to be fine. The next step was to load up all the drivers from my usb to my desktop but it seems that it has stopped working and can no longer detect my usb. The light of the usb ignites indicating that it is plugged in correctly but isn't recognisable. Furthermore I have no internet on my pc to update these drivers and no CD drive to insert a disk to update my drivers. Anyone have any ideas?

Windows 7.0 not detecting USB devices, cant install Network drivers.

Thanks for the reply, but changing it to legacy doesn't seem to have made a difference. I read somewhere that if I put my usb in a 2.0 port that it will work but my computer and motherboard don't seem to have any USB 2.0 ports.
My motherboard is a GIGABYTE Z170X-UD3

... then you should have 3 USB3.0 ports (blue) and 1 USB2.0 (red).
Also, are there no front-mounted/top-mounted USB ports on the PC cabinet?

I have looked at the red USB port but it is labelled as a USB 3.1 port and my USB does not seem to show up when I try putting it in that one. Furthermore my PC cabinet has two USB ports mounted on top but these are both USB 3.0 ports. (I have a Raven RV03 PC cabinet).

Yeah, thats the thing, I kept it in the same USB port that I installed windows 7 in but then all of a sudden it didn't recognise it anymore. Maybe I would have to wipe my drive and reinstall windows again? Although I don't really know how to do that haha.
