My current specs are -
Intel i5-6600K
Hyper-212 Evo Cooler
Z170 Pro Gaming Motherboard
GeForce GTX 970
8 GB RAM
250 GB SSD
1 TB HDD.
Can my psu (Corsair VS650) handle the overclock ? Can I run high rig games on this PC ? Should I get this PSU changed or can I work out with it for a while ? 90% of the time I'll be playing CSGO at 299 FPS.

Solution
Well it is indeed a good overclocker from what I've read and seen first hand.
About the psu it has a mixed rating of good and bad, if it does go out while your gaming.
It shouldn't take out your components, unless there is a bad thunderstorm and lightning hit nears the wall socket its in plugged into.

Go with evga or antec, I've owned both during the past 6 years and neither gave me any grief besides dying after 3 years.

Both companys have a good customer service rating, make sure you...
By looking at your part specs yes it'll be able to handle it, my only concern is what type of case do you have ?
Also when you want to oc, how far do you want to safely push it, the 6600k is at 3.5ghz by default.
View this page here so you can see how far the oc will go, if I were you though, set the default speed at 3.0ghz.
Then you adjust the max oc to 4.2ghz, if you can reach that safely push it little by little till you hit your limit.

I have a mid tower spec 02 Corsair case. I'm likely to keep the cpu at default 3.5 Ghz. If I ever overclock , it'll max be 3.9 as I don't think my processor can go beyond that. I've heard that my PSU is terrible in terms of quality and if my PSU is messed up then all my components go on a toss?
