Hello. I'm looking to build a new pc, and after getting advice on this forum about individual parts i already have something in mind. The Info:

Approximate Purchase Date: Until the end of this month (may).

Budget Range: 650+- after 10 % overall discount on this particular shop: http://www.aquapc.com

System Usage from Most to Least Important: gaming, surfing web, ms office

Are you buying a monitor: no (not yet, plan to do so latter)

Parts to Upgrade: Full new pc except the hard drive

Do you need to buy OS: no

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Only one : http://www.aquapc.com

Location: Portugal-Europe

Overclocking: no (at least not the cpu)

SLI or Crossfire: no

Your Monitor Resolution: I currently have a 1366x768 samsung : https://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-S19A100N-18-5-Widescreen-Monitor/dp/B005G9GGGC but I plan to buy a full hd latter on.

I have decided on this:

Case: CORSAIR CARBIDE 100R WINDOW
http://www.corsair.com/pt-pt/carbide-series-100r-mid-tower-case
Cpu: INTEL CORE I5-6500 3.2GHZ
http://ark.intel.com/products/88184/Intel-Core-i5-6500-Processor-6M-Cache-up-to-3_60-GHz
Gpu: ASUS RADEON R9 380 STRIX DCII OC 4GB
http://www.asus.com/PT/Graphics-Cards/STRIXR9380DC2OC4GD5GAMING/
Ram: GSKILL RIPJAWS V 8GB DDR4-2133MHZ
http://www.gskill.com/en/product/f4-2133c15d-8gvr
Motherboard: ASUS B150M PRO GAMING
https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/B150M-PRO-GAMING/
Psu :SEASONIC BRONZE M12II-520 MODULAR
http://www.seasonicusa.com/M12II-Bronze.htm.
This totals 728€ on the site -10%= 655€

So is everything compatible? I'm worried the monitor won't have connection to such a new gpu, not sure if the power is enough, and I'm not sure on the motherboard, i don't need sound cards or more then 1 hdd, but i will add an ssd drive later.

Advice will be appreciated.

Hello,

That's a very good build. You can go with an i3 and use a more powerful graphics card too. DVI-D, HDMI and DP monitors will work fine. VGA monitors might do as well but I'll recommend to replace it. The Seasonic 520 is ample for the build, it'll even take Fury X.

Your build looks excellent! The best connector is the Display Port (assuming your monitor comes with one) which your video card has. Your PSU is just enough, but you will probably have to upgrade it if you upgrade your GPU. The MB looks like a good choice. The 100R is not so great with cable management and its very basic and only comes with one fan. Move up to the 200R or SPEC 02/03 if you can.

I checked and it is indeed a vga monitor.
I have the vga-dvi so it should work fine right? Only less quality? I plan on buying a new one later anyway.

Ty for both replies appreciated.

No, I don't think there will be any quality differences, as long as your card comes with a DVI-I port.

The thing is, VGA monitors these days have the resolution of 1366x768 (most of them). It's very rare to find anything higher than that with a VGA port. To me, the 380 is pointless for that resolution, something cheaper like the 950 or R7 370 are more than enough.

Yeah, sure, there are monitors with VGA that's 1920x1080. But from my experience it's not only VGA, the main port is usually HDMI or DVI. My monitor also have VGA, 1920x1080, but it's not ONLY VGA... I'm guessing the OP has an only VGA monitor, which, from my experience almost always has a resolution of 1366x768 or lower (not sure why).

I wouldn't argue with the upgradeability though, but If I were the OP I wouldn't get anything more than a 950 or 370. I would honestly stick with that, save a bit of money and upgrade straight to 1440p. 768p vs 1080p gaming is not that different anyway... Just my 1/50 dollars .
