well neither is working the onboard video works but the gt630 wont work on it. it dont matter though. i still got another desktop im working on putting together. all i need for it is a good power supply that will power every thing, i bought a 650 watt power supply for it and it didnt have enough rails to power my cpu or anything, even tried it in my friends pc and it wouldnt power his either, but it sure worked in the old pc it works like a dream for only paying so little for it. what power supply should i look into getting any suggestions, im not to familiar with the term rails so not sure what that means in what to look for. i dont want to pay no more than $45 for a power supply id like to get to my two pcs going since i know now what they need.

would this nividia GeForce gt630 4gb ddr3 graphics card work in a dell studio d540 its ddr2 4G, 800M, ram board PROCESSOR, Q6600, 2.4, 8MB, CDKE, G0 DEVIATE L6 TO L5+, Pentium 4 Prescott DT, 3.2GHZ, 1 MEGB, 800FSB motherboard m017g would i need to upgrade psu as well

Newer computers get most of their power from the 12V output. So if you look at a power supply's specs and see high amp output on the 3V and 5V, don't get that power supply. An example:
400W power supply with 30A on the 12V= okay
400W power supply with 14A on the 12V= bad

In my opinion, you should not buy a Pentium 4 of any kind with the idea you are going to upgrade anything on it. It's probably not worth it/won't work. A computer with a Q6600 might be worth it, as long as you understand that it is a lower end budget system now. So don't expect miracles with new games.
