Hi,

I'm not sure about these two RAM Models from Corsair, I have the "Corsair CMX8GX3M2A1600C9 XMS3 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3" installed but I would like to add another 8gb.

I saw this model this was cheaper "Corsair CMX8GX3M1A1600C11 XMS3 8GB (1x8GB) DDR3" by my eyes I'm thinking it's only 1 stick of 8GB instead of 2 sticks of 4GB, can someone please tell me if it's OK to add the 1 Stick of 8GB to my System?

My Motherboard is an ASUS p6x58d-e.

If you have to mix that can be the best bet, but as stated above "no guarantees when mixing DRAM even another package of the same exact model". I do a lot of testing and playing with DRAM and have gotten identical sets straight from manufacturers, and some times they play other times they don't. They might even play on one mobo and not another, it's a crapshoot

You can try, no guarantees when mixing DRAM even another package of the same exact model you have may not play with the old set. Best to get a set of the full amount you want/need. If you try and mix and have problems, give a shout and we can try some voltage/timing adjustments to get them playing

What if I just added another Corsair CMX8GX3M2A1600C9 XMS3 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 to make 16GB, will that be ok?
