So, I recently started to get into horror games. But, I can't seem to find any good ones that are out yet. I don't want any jump scare $h!t. I want something that will make me paranoid. Something that will make me scared to leave the safe haven of a locker or under a bed. I already know about Amnesia, Outlast, and the game that shall not be named (Hint: It rhymes with five nights at furries). So, go crazy.

i havent played it but you may enjoy alien isolation. you might also enjoy deadspace. terribly old but i loved playing the original AVP which had some adrenaline moments for sure.

if you want experience, dont ignore older games just because they are old and have dated graphics. some of the stories and fun factor were quite good.

or, if you're looking for a different kind of game check out the titles on this list https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2015/07/27/best-horror-games/

Ha, now THAT was a game.... I remember almost having a heart attack the first time i got nabbed by a face hugger. And it took me months to be able to play as the alien without getting motion sickness after about 30 seconds... good times!

Here are some games that have some seriously pant-crapping moments, I think the kind you're looking for:

Alan Wake, also the sequel: A.W.' s American Nightmare
DreadOut
Dead Space (the first one)
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter (maybe not pant-crapping, but lot's of tension)
Thief: Deadly Shadows (the haunted asylum is IMHO a contender for the scariest game level in history!)

If you don't mind FPS games, F.E.A.R. (the first one) and System Shock 2 are worth a look.

Since you like Amnesia, you should check out the Penumbra series too, and also SOMA.

i used to play almost exclusively as alien though sometimes i went marine to break it up. you get used to the motion - in fact corkscrewing down the hallway is a good way to avoid gunfire :) single player mode was a little hard as you start off weak.

if you play marine, the aliens pouncing on you in dark levels can certainly make you almost jump out of your seat. everything is so dark and spooky and that motion tracker just adds to the suspense.
