best GPU to fit this motherboard

I was wondering first, what is the best CPU can fit in the motherboard and what is the best best GPU to fit with that CPU that is on a budget and neither of them will bottleneck.

I think the best CPU is a core 2 quad Q9650.

The motherboard is an
Asus P5QL-VM DO/CSM.

Or would it be better for me to go the AMD Phenom route

That board will accept any gfx card that fits a PCIe x16 slot. The length will be determined by room in the case.
My Q9550 @ 3.4 GHz is pretty well balanced with my GTX 960 FTW. Faster cards may improve performance a bit, but with an increase in CPU bottleneck.

The Core 2 Extreme QX9650 would be the fastest CPU I see on the CPU support list. But they are scarce and demand a bit of a premium. And that's used. But if you don't care about the unlocked multi, the Q9650 is the same thing. My Q9550 is easier to find and cheaper, and is easily OC'ed to Q9650 speeds and faster with a simple bclk bump.
