For the past 4/5 years I have been running a Dell Inspiron 660 computer (w/ i5 3330 and upgraded GTX 650) but with the new Pascal cards coming out I decided to upgrade. Here are my current thoughts on a build (I already own 2 x 4GB DDR3 @ 1600MHz and 650W PSU):

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor (£165.00)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97-D3H ATX LGA1150 Motherboard (£57.99 @ Ebuyer)
Video Card: Zotac GeForce GTX 970 4GB Video Card (£300.00)
Case: Thermaltake Versa N21 ATX Mid Tower Case (£37.92 @ CCL Computers)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Home OEM (64-bit) (£25.00)
Total: £585.91

Note that I have subbed in a GTX 970 for a 1070, at a possible UK price and I also found a GTX 4690k online for £165.

Do the motherboard and case look like a good fit for the build? Alternatively, would it just be better to install a GTX 1080 into my current build? Any suggestions are welcome.

Solution
Yes that motherboard will fit that case. I would not trust a copy of windows that sells for (£25.00).
This build looks ok, I expect the 1070 to cost more then (£300.00)
