Hi guys,

Friend is buying a PC tomorrow, and his budget is $1600 AUD, (approx 1200 USD, though higher prices mean value of $1000 USD in parts), I suggested the following build:

ASUS GeForce GTX970 TURBO 4GB PEAK
Unit Cost :$439.00

i5 Super Upgrade Kit for Techies - Bundle of CPU, Mobo, Ram
ASRock Z170 Pro 4 LGA1151 DDR4 ATX
ntel Core i5 6600K Skylake-S 3.5GHz 6MB Cache No HSF Retail Box
GeIL 16GB Kit (2x8GB) DDR4 SUPER LUCE Black (White LED) C15 2400MHz

Unit Cost :$569.00

WD Blue WD10EZEX 3.5" 1TB 64MB 7200RPM
Unit Cost :$74.00

Fractal Design Define R5 Black Mid Tower Case
Unit Cost :$185.00

Corsair RM650x 650W 80PLUS Gold Modular Power Supply
Unit Cost :$169.00

Samsung 850 EVO Series 2.5" 7mm 250GB SSD
Unit Cost :$125.00

Total $1,561.00

** Are these parts all fine, no major conflicts and no major bottlenecking? He can switch for equivalent parts though he needs it asap as his computer blew up.

Given he lives in a state that lacks much choice, I went with https://www.ple.com.au/ as he needs the parts to be from mostly one store so they can build for him.

Unfortunately, his estranged father is going to help with the costs, and he can't wait until June at risk of his Dad no longer wanting to help out (he isn't reliable).

He also has anxiety issues and would not do well adding the GFX card in himself later, and I live on the other side of the country so I cannot assist.
I will try to re-convince him tonight, though feel its not likely
