CPU Temps Higher with AS5

Ok so im running a 6700k at stock speeds with a Hyper212 Evo cooling it.

I recently had to replace my mobo(RMA) and in the process I decided to try some Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste as I found some I bought a while back and wanted to see if it would give me better temps than the standard coolermaster stuff that came with the 212 Evo.

After stress testing with Aida64 (Stress CPU and Stress FPU selected) average temps seem to have gone up about 10 degrees (interestingly the mobo temp went up 4 degrees as well) from my previous tests.

I know Arctic Silver is meant to have a "setting in" period but is this to much of an increase ? also if I need to reapply thermal paste should I switch back to the paste that came with my heatsink ?

Thanks in advance :)

It's been a while since I've used it but I definitely don't recall it being "liquidy" though. It does have a cure time after which the temps drop a bit but 10C is too high. It is possible your tube has separated or something (rare but not unheard of).

Here is their application method they recommend if you want to try it again.

and a bit about the curing

You are honestly likely only going to be looking at 1~3C temp difference between any of the thermal pastes when properly applied except maybe super cheap ones. So just putting the CM stuff back on (I'm guessing the white CM stuff) is fine since your AS5 seems to have an issue with it.
