Hi,
I know this question has been asked, but I want to be sure it will work for my specific situation.

I'm buying a new laptop, and the salesperson recommended I get the SSD since it's sturdier (I broke my previous 2 hard drives).

I want to know if it will be enough for Windows 10, Microsoft office, and a bunch of smaller programs. But I also am in medical school and have hundreds of lecture videos, textbook pdfs, Word documents, and pdf files from my lecture notes.

I'm not too savvy with laptop technology, so any help would be great. Thanks!

I would not get just 128GB for your situation. 256GB would be the requirement and get a USB3 external drive that you can archive material to and use for backups. Wouldn't want to lose any important school work.

A clean copy of Windows 10 takes up about 8GB SSD space.

That leaves you with about 115GB (not all 128GBs are available to use)
Videos will take up the most space, word documents, not so much.
Don't forget Cloud Backup solutions; I recommend Google Drive and Dropbox. And of course, W10 has OneDrive built in. I prefer cloud backup solutions as you can access it from any computer, and what if your external HDD breaks/dies?

Thank you so much for your help, I'll be taking your advice and getting a 256GB one as well as utilizing the external drive (that I lazily hadn't used before, and I'm now paying the price for).
