I'm having a problem with my Lenovo ThinkStation D20. It was previously used as a server, but I'm wanting to convert it to a PC. It's a MT-4158-CM1 with BIOS version - 61KT50AUS. It has four(4) WD VelociRapter WD3000BLHX 300GB hard drives installed running Windows 7. I installed an additional new Samsung 850 Pro 256GB SSD with Windows 10 Pro as the fifth and primary (C) drive. I cannot get windows to recognize the four(4) spare WD drives. All five drives show up in BIOS, but Windows does not recognize the four WD drives in Device Manager or Disk Management. These four also are not shown in File Explorer. I started by only having the primary SSD connected, and everything works as designed. I have then connected each WD HDD separately or all at once, but no matter the sequence I connect them, Windows does not see them. They will show up in BIOS, but that's it. I have used both the Marvell (Blue) SATA and the Intel (Black) ports, with many different combinations, but nothing works. There are two CD/DVD ODDs and they work find and are recognized in BIOS and in Windows.

What am I missing here? I've been scratching my head for over a week and getting no where. You seem very knowledgeable with D20s. I hope you can help me too.

Solution
ive had the same issue with a raid before. what I had to do is re-enable raid. and delete each disk from the raid though the raid software menu. then disable the raid in the bios. FYI this will result in destruction of data on the disk.

No, still not working. The 4 spare drives are ONLY shown in BIOS. Other then run disk verification, nothing else can be accomplished. Somehow, I have to get Windows 10 to recognize the 4 spare drives in Device Manager & Disk Management. I can't even reformat the drives.
