Hard Drive Corrupt. Fast Way to Recover Files?

A while ago my hard drive got corrupt and I tried basically everything to get it back up and running. The hard drive's partitions got deleted somehow and I didn't have the C: drive or anything else. Once I figured out it was no use, I bought a new one and a new windows 7 and got my computer back up and running. The problem is that I don't have anything at all from my old hard drive and I desperately want at least somethings back. I found out there is a program out there called Macrium Reflect that can recover partitions and maybe lost files so I gave it a go and with my luck, and two terabyte hard drive, it chugged along at about one percent a day. I don't have time to wait 100 days for the partition to get recovered so is there anyway I can speed the process up or is there another program that can do it faster. If I have to sacrifice some files to speed up the process all I really care about is the save files of all my games. Is there a way I can only select to recover those?

Solution
Recovering lost data generally takes a long time because the software does not know where to look.

It is slow.

Other software like recuva may also work, but the less you mess with it the better. I do not think it would be much faster(but 100 days does seem rather excessive.).

Thanks! I'll try that software and see it goes.

Hi

you have to distinguish between corruption and physical damage

You should have checked the disk for damage first using diagnostic software like Western Digital Data Lifeguard for windows
If it passes the quick test do a full test
if it passes the full test you can consider your data recovery options

If the disk is damaged (bad sectors etc) the more you use the disk the more damage will be done making it harder for an expert to get back data for you

Data Recovery programs can recover small & medium sized files by scanning the disk for file headers it recognises
eg:- MS office files, pictures, videos, music, programs ...
but you may well loose the file name & folder name and get 0000001.jpg, 0000002.jpg
(raw disk recovery)

You must recover files to another hard drive not the hard disk which has problems

To recover partition information I would try Testdisk from cgsecurity.org
If it can not find the partitions & rebuild them then your only choice is to pay a data recovery company a lot of money
or do a raw disk recovery as above

7.1 beta is latest version 7.0 is over a year old.
