I am looking for some opinions before I got out and purchase a new mobo. So, I purchased a new Lenovo IdeaCentre about two years ago. Came with Win8, upgraded to Win8.1 Nearly a year ago I accepted an Win8.1 update. My system uploaded, shut down and that was about the end of it. I turned it on manually (didn't just restart) and it never booted. I've looked into it from time to time throughout a years time, now I want it fixed. So, now I hit the power, no boot, black screens (3), fans turn on, lights turn on, two immediate deeps at start up, Space Pilot Pro mouse lights up, but computer does nothing.

System is:
Lenovo IdeaCentre
k450 CIB85M Motherboard
i7 4770k Processor
NVIDA GeForce GTX650 (3 monitors installed)
12GB DDR3

I replaced the graphic card with a new one and it did not change the symptom so I reinstalled it. I moved the RAM sticks around and did not change, so I went to purchase a new one 8GB DDR3 and still did not work. I tested each pin of the 24-pin harness from the PSU for proper voltage and all checked out accordingly.

At this point I am hoping someone can tell me its not the mobo and its something I've overlooked and haven't thought of. Please, all ideas and suggestions are welcome.

Does your BIOS even show at startup?

Have you attempted to reinstall your operating system? That is really what it sounds like, if you were in the middle of a Windows 8.1 update and restarted your computer while it was copying files, you could of corrupted your operating system.

No BIOS. Nothing. Once I push the power button, fans and light immediately turn on and remain on, followed by two short beeps. The only way to shut down the power (fans and light at this point) is to hold down the power button.

That would be your motherboard then. I had the same thing happen to me on a computer past, one day it was fine, the next day it was just an air mover.

To continue on your previous response. The update completed and restarted itself, it just didn't come back after that. The mobo is what I'm thinking now. I was just hoping someone would tell me it's not. lol. I will order one and update if it works or not. Any possible reasons as to why if failed? It wasn't no more than a year old and I use it for Architectural drafting and rendering (Revit) and 3D design (Fusion 360), never used for gaming.

Without viewing logs, it would be impossible for me to determine the exact cause of the failure. I wouldn't even feel comfortable guessing.

So I just changed the mobo and IT WAS A SUCCESS!! It is now up and running just like it did the last time it was on a year ago. As I mentioned before, it had shut itself down for a windows update. When it came back on, it still completed it then brought up the browser with the last tabs I had up at that time. SO, now...What do I do with the old mobo? Does it hold any value? Thank you for your help
