Sorry for the late reply, i was out of town.. the PSU says Fortress 700W power

I've heard these are very cheap and low quality, I wouldn't run my PC on it, do you have another, suitable PSU you can try?

unfortunately, i dont have one. I just bought this PSU last December. I am planning to replace it but I really have a low budget (about 800php) plus the prices here in philippines are hell a lot higher. :( generic PSUs here cost 500php or 10 US dollars.

Less than $20 isn't enough to buy a PSU that is any kind of decent, I'm afraid you will need to save up if you need to get one but we really need to test a decent PSU in your system to see if that is the issue, do you have any friends that have a decent PSU?

i dont have friends that have a decent PSU. all of us were running on generic PSUs. sad life here on PH :(

I wonder if it's worth taking the GPU out and see if it still shuts down, it's a low power card but maybe it'll show us something new. How often does it happen by the way?

it happens randomly, sometimes more than 3 times a day, sometimes it doesnt happen for 3 days.. It happens either browsing the net or playing games.

any application (downloadable or something like that) to test if the PSU is bad?

You can check the voltages of it in the BIOS but that won't always show up issues, give it a look and post back your results please :)

I tried replacing my PSU with my old 600w one and surprisingly no random shutdowns happen. guess the new one is faulty then :) thanks for the time Sir. Cheers!

No problem, I'm glad we got to the bottom of it :)
