"product key does not match win 8 image"

Hello all,
I recently purchased a Win 8.1 pro key online. The key seems to be legit as it was accepted through the windows program that is supposed to let you create an iso (not the media creation program) and showkey plus. Showkey plus says the key is a win 8.1 pro RTM Retail key.

However, when using media creation tool to create Bootable USB, the key is rejected at the WIN 8 installation screen. Ive tried creating a win 8.1 pro, 8.1 pro N, single language, and all the other 8.1 pro choices. None of them work and I get the "key does not match win 8 image" what the heck is happening? Should I try downloading an ISO somewhere before cutting my loses?

*Edit* Forgot to mention this is a brand new build.

Well after trying all different versions of Win 8.1, I was reminded that win 8 keys work with win 10. So I created a Win 10 USB boot using MS creation tool and the key worked! Thanks for nothing guys! ...Just kidding! :)

Whatever it is that you 'bought', it apparently does not go with Win 8.1 Pro.
