Sound Blaster ZxR on X99 Mainboards.

Will Sound Blaster ZXR work on PCI-E 16, or X4 slots? Should i choose a motherboard with x1 pci-e slot?
Going to buy x99 mainboard for broadwell-e, thanks.

higher bandwith PCIE slots can work with lower bandwith cards. The soundcard will work in both the 16x and 4x slots flawlessly, though i would recommend using a x4 slot and keeping the x16s for graphics.

Hello,

Well i guess i mislead , i know it will work theoretically, but i've read some issues with it. Maybe i should ask , if there is anyone running ZXR like this.

There will be no issues. It's best to run it on an x4 slot that is linked to the chipset, not the CPU. The motherboard manual will have information regarding this.
