dvd burner and program

After I updated driver in my lenovo C240 all in one window7 using its supplied win8 driver pack v1.3 to its HL-DT-ST DVD RAM GT80N dvd burner drive, the sothink movie dvd maker program has been working fine a couple of time ( just only encoding not burning the dvd disc as it used to before).

Now the sothink program stop working again. So i wonder what's gone wrong? The burner or the program or both? Thank a lots.

Manufacturer's do not supply drivers for optical drives any more since they are now built in to the operating system on Windows XP or later versions.

I suggest you try different burning software. These two are free:

BurnAware: http://www.burnaware.com/

CDBurnerXP: https://cdburnerxp.se/en/home

If you continue to have burning problems, try different brand of CD or DVD media.

I couldn't get from lenovo site the window7 driver update.

Well Lenovo should have Windows 7 drivers for that model (unless you've changed the OS), and some Windows 8 drivers don't work on Windows 7 anyway so that could be the cause of the problem.

Go to Lenovo support & enter your laptop's serial number, then choose your Windows version.

If it's not an American model, click American flag at top-right & choose the appropriate country.

Hi Phillip,

Thank you very much for your reply and help. I'd tried that by given my sr/no and the screen mentioned that it's out of warranty since 2014. Anyway alsol in the screen also showed to choose drivers for window7 . So in the column Pick a Component, I selected Software and Utilies, and in the column Keyword I selected DVD/CD ROM. But the screen said - No driver under selected component and OS combination.

Please give more advice, thank a lots once again.
