I wasn't sure where to put this thread (No Smartphone section)...

So my friend has a SG3 and it sometimes decides to say there is no SIM card inserted, when there is. Sometimes restarting it fixes it. Taking the SIM card out and putting it back in is only a temporary fix.

Is the connection bad?

Thanks!

Solution
Could be a number of things that's going on here.
Could just be a bad sim card (the card could be scratched or defective)
Or, could be a bad sim card slot on the phone itself.
It is possible that the sim-card/sim-card slot on the phone are dirty. Try using a can of air and blow out the sim card port on the phone. Do the same to the sim card itself. If you see smudged on the sim card (such as fingerprints) try wiping the card down with a bit of rubbing alcohol. (BE SURE IT'S DRY BEFORE YOU ENTER THE CARD BACK INTO THE PHONE)

You could try all these fixes, but easiest would be to take it to the store you bought it from. They should check this for free and give you a new sim card for free. If not then your service provider...

yeah this really is the best way to go. I used to work as a cellphone salesman so I'm familiar with this issue! Usually it was a bad SIM card that got scratched or smudged when it was installed.

Hello, last time when my HTC One smart phone also got the same invalid SIM card error, I did also searched many threads and articles to know how to do for resolving such problems.
The above best answer is really helpful and includes nearly all my found solutions.
