Hdd.... Doubt pls help

I have a 500gb hard disk of 6.00gb speed
I have bought a new mobo and proscessor. In my mobo it has 2 3.
00gb slot and 4 6.00gb slot
Can i connect in any one of the 6gb slot.
And one question
Is building pc our own good ? first time building one

If it's a mechanical hard drive (HDD), then you won't be able to experience any BIG difference between the SATA II (3 Gb/s = 300 MB/s) or SATA III (6 Gb/s = 600 MB/s) ports on your motherboard. The HDD is limited in its throughput by platter density and RPMs which prevent it from exceeding SATA II bandwidth. However, if this is the only storage device in your system and you are using it as a primary OS drive, then you should connect in the first available SATA port.
If you consider an upgrade to a solid-state drive (SSD), you should keep in mind that it will require a SATA III (6 Gb/s) port due to the fact that their transfer speed could reach over 500 MB/s.
