So i finally upgraded to see what the hype was about on my main desktop and even did a clean install to avoid any conflicts from the previous Windows 7 install. I am running 2 R9 270s in crossfire with a 2560x1080 monitor which worked fine on Windows 7. After upgrading however, the game is stretched as if it were set to 1080p and choosing the native resolution with auto aspect ratio would be still be stretched, opening cutscenes and all. I've tried a bunch of things to setting the values in the registry, checking the game cache through steam and reinstalling GPU drivers. If anyone has any other suggestions that would be great.

open the reg-editor (WIN+R -> regedit)
Then navigate to HKEY_Current_USER/Software/IO Interaktive/Hitman Absolution and change ResolutionHeight and ResolutionWidth to your value

Click under the "Video settings" fullscreen "No" to "YES". Now you can switch the resolution to 1920x1080 or higher. Apply the custom settings and it should work
