Hi,So this is my first build ever and i’m kind of new to this stuff so i really need your thoughts on this build if its good for gaming or not

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CPU:Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor

CPU Cooler:Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler

Motherboard:MSI Z170A GAMING M5 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard

RAM:Kingston HyperX Fury Black 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2133 Memory

Storage:Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

Video Card:MSI GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB Video Card

Case:NZXT Phantom 530 (White) ATX Full Tower Case

Power Supply:EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

Monitor:
Dell U3415W 60Hz 34.0" Monitor

Solution
The PSU is not idea. change for an EVGA G2,GS,GQ,B2 unit.

Also, swap the 980ti for a 1080.

If you do not plan to do much rendering/encoding, you can easily swap to an i5 and lose no game performance.

I assume you plan to overclock.

Thanks, but I’m still confused on that one bc some ppl say that 8GB is a lot of gaming and some are not, so I guess I’ll just go with 8GB of ram for now and I might add another 8GB if I didn't like the performance

Yeah especially if your long term plans include VR or an upgrade to 4K / 5K. That is something I definitely recommend doing on this kind of a build.

OP - what is your overall budget?

For $3K you should at least be doing something similar to this. The original build is almost kind of a waste of money if you're paying that kind of money for that power supply. This is what I would recommend:
