Acer Aspire Chromebook 14 doesn't load past the Acer screen...
Hi,
A friends laptop doesn't load past the Acer screen after powering up. It goes black after the Acer screen and just cycles forever. I've tried certain things that other people having this issue recommended, none have prevailed. I have tried;
- Hitting F8. Never works. Tried many rhythms. Speeds. Timings etc.
- F2 sends me to a screen and all the components are listed so nothing wrong there.
- Checked the base of laptop under case for damage, all fine.
- Alt+F12 sends me to a boot menu but only 'Windows boot something or other'. No options to change or do anything so useless screen.
More theory here, my friend said the laptop couldn't open Microsoft office programs. Many errors showed up such as, 'no system memory' 'program isn't compatible'- been working fine? The computer recommended restoring to a point, plug in a external HDD and backup. My friend started this and then the hard drive said it cannot complete, forced to cancel. Then the issues started.
Weirdly- the external HDD has gone from being 128GB to 32GB which is the size of the laptops actual HDD??!!
