I've somehow set my graphics card to run at full clocks all the time since I've got it (1060/1525) since I thought that's what it was supposed to do. Apparently it's actually supposed to downclock and then change the clocks accordingly when using a 3d application. It chaged back to these settings when updating crimson drivers with a hotfix. For example when running Shadow of Mordor the core clock usually is in sync with the GPU usage, when GPU usage spikes so does the core clock, at max usage it goes up to 1060mhz with the memory constant. Then after I close it and use my computer like the desktop, the core clock goes to 300mhz while the memory clock is odd being at 150mhz then randomly jumps to max for a second for no reason What i'm wondering is is it supposed to change the clocks while gaming like this? Also why is the memory usage spiking to max on idle for a second for no reason?

It is supposed to jump like that during games. The memory clock jumping to max for a second is likely because it's being used for a split second.

As long as the memory clock isn't at max for a long time for no reason, everything's fine.
