My current cable modem is the old Motorola SURFboard SB5101U w/ DOCSIS 2.0 and the new one that has come out with DOCSIS 3.0 is a Motorola SURFboard SB6141.
How much faster is DOCSIS 3.0 over 2.0 and is it very noticeable?
Also if i were to replace my Belkin N300 with a N600 or a N750 what would the changes be like with the new stuff like DB/Dos/DMZ?

DOCSIS 3.0 can support faster rates. If you don't subscribe to more than 50Mbit service your DOCSIS 2.0 should be fine.

Your WIFI would only be faster if your client wifi supports higher rates. Changing the router may not change anything. A dual band router could benefit because you may be able to move phones and tablets to 5Ghz.
