With the 2 games I tried (Hitman and Attila Total War), I was getting much smoother performance when I used to encounter lots of lags with FPS tanks in some instances despite having a 980Ti + i7 6700. I think Cortex helps a lot with badly optimized games.
I was intending on keep using it but I immediately realized that Cortex was messing up a lot of stuffs on my PC when I install it, e.g. missing internet icon, prevents me from using chrome or going into network sharing center, triple loading time etc. The moment I uninstall it the problems are gone.
Is anyone else using Cortex experiencing these issues? Do you know what might have caused them?
If not, without using Cortex, how can I try to replicate what it does? How do I know which programs to close when I play games? Is it through task manager?
