Will this radiator fit inside to clear the motherboard?

Hello!

I'm purchasing the "XSPC Raystorm Extreme Universal CPU Watercooling Kit w/ EX280 Radiator/420 Pump/Res".

I have a Maximus VIII Hero Motherboard. I'm not quite sure that the radiator and fans will be able to clear the motherboard and fit inside the case properly. My case can hold 3 fans, but I'd like to play it on the safe side, and just go with a 2 fan size radiator.

Many thanks!

Justin

For starters, we will also need to know your ram modules and the case you're going to be working in. The reason behind that is due to the fact that some cases have rad mounting locations that are either off centered or to the center of the chassis. The problem with the latter is that the radiator when added with a 25mm fan in either push or pull may or may not conflict with your motherboard's VRM heatsink(s) and/or your ram modules. The EX 280 may be slim but you come close to 60mm(or more) when you add a row of fans.

I'm also skeptical bout the kit you chose out, are you sure you've done the calc's for your heat dissipation and your expected Delta T's? If not you may want to read through the watercooling sticky(located in...
