Does MSI Z170A GAMING M5 motherboard have an ethernet connection or wifi ?

Hi this is my build http://pcpartpicker.com/p/YVBPxY and i was wondering how do i connect to the internet when im finished building ? i have ethernet cables. and does the cable quality or length affect my connection ?

And also if you have suggestions about my build feel free to help me out this is my first build :)

going by the specs of the mother board, Yes it does have Ethernet 10/100/1000
The Network cable does have an impact on network performance. But whats more important is that the cable is in good condition.

No it does not have built in wi/fi but that is not a problem you can add this via usb etc.

Have you got home network at the moment?

If you do then you will be able to plug a network cable in to the motherboard and the MODEM. depending on the OS you are going to use you may need to install network card drivers. Most likely it will come with the mobo. Or you may have to get the drivers from MSI web site. There should be basic support for your mobo.

More details will help answer your questions.


Perhaps you use a mobile phone for internet connection.
In this case you can "tether" your phone via wifi. Of course you will need a wi/fi device plugged in to your mobo for this to work.
