Guys, i need the motherboard for overclock the FX 8320 to 4.5 or higher frequency (maybe 4.8 or more in future), and i can't choose M5A97 EVO R2.0 or M5A99X EVO R2.0, they both have the 6+2 phase supply, but some people talking that 99X evo is better for overclock, but why if they have same VRM, 99x has heat pipe for cooling, but if put at m5a97 just same cooling, what result will be?

The 99X has the better chipset obviously. It also does SLI and CF at x8, x8 lanes whereas the 97 does CF only and at x16, x4 lanes. The HT speed is faster on the 99X; 5.2 GT/s vs 4.8 GT/s.

The added heatpipe between VRM and NB heatsinks will help balance temps between devices. The cooler one will accept heat from the warmer one. Kinda acts as a 2nd heat sink for the warmer device. In theory, anyway.

But i am ask not about differences of two chipset, i am ask why 99x better in overclock if both motherboard have the same supply VRM.
Yes 99x has heat pipe, and only this give to 99x win in overclock?
