Does the AMD Opteron series 6200 still hold up?

So I'm trying to build myself a budget server and will use it mostly for a small webserver, database and filesharing and stumbled upon a pretty tempting offer:

70€ (78$) for an AMD Opteron 6272 (they have 2 in stock and I'd be going for both)

So now there's a few questions for me:

  • ■ Does this particular CPU still hold up or should I go for something entirely different?
    ■ Is the price ok? I'm guessing it is.
    ■ What RAM should I get? Can I get any 1600mhz DDR3 RDIMM?

The cpu is new and still sealed, from what I could gather it's a hardware store trying to get rid of some old stuff.
Of course I'm still gonna face the challenge of finding a cheap G34 dual socket motherboard.
However it would be awesome if that's a deal I shouldn't pass.

A small webserver, database, and filesharing host would probably be wasting most of those CPU cores. 32 physical cores won't be utilized. You could get an AMD FX-8350 for the same price and twice the clock speed. You could get an i5 and use 1/4 the electricity.

I would not recommend using old Opeterons.
