HI

I have a custom made computer with windows 7 wich ive used to play games on for about 2 years now

Ive had no major problems until now. It was after i fixed a fan i thought was broken, i turned the computer off and then hit the powerswitch then i fiddled with the fan but i plugged it back cause it was no problems with it. I also downloaded speedfan after that. And i don´t think i have any kind of virus that could have caused this as i searched all disks with my antvirusprogram (malwabytes antimalware).

But after that the bluescreens came and i thought it was because i hadn´t installed the latest windows updates so i did that. But the bluescreens continued. I could still tough after ive been in safe mode after the bluescreen and restarted it get into regular windows (my desktop) like nothing has happened, without any messages saying it had crashed or needed to search for damages.

I searched the logbok for what was causing the crash and it says it was error 41 kernelpower. The description says "The computer has rebooted without properly shutting down first. This error can be caused if the computer has stopped responding, if it has crashed or if power is unexpectedly interrupted." There were also several errors in the logbok, something about a mssing file.

Can it be related to when i flicked the powerswitch?

or is there something wrong with my power outlet?

Or was it because of a windows update or something else.

//Please send halp. i wanna play games again. :(

Do these randomly occur? Or do they happen at a specific time? Rebooting etc? Have you overclocked?

I would suggest your "load optimized defaults" in your BIOS as step #1, and we'll go from there.

Please list your specs. That'll help narrow down the potential culprits.

The route of this problem can be various things:
*Overclocking
*Failing RAM
*Poor PSU
*Overheating

Without knowing specs, it's difficult to get a 'feel' for the likely culprit.

These are my specs:

case: Fractal design define R4

cpu: i5 4600k

cpu cooling: Noctua NH-D15

gpu: msi gefore gtx 770

ram: 2x8gb crucial ballistix

memory: intel ssd 240gb, 1000gb harddrive

power supply: xfx 750W

motherboard: msi z97-g45 gaming

I also have three fractal design fans and a custom silent fan and a wireless network adapter (Asus PCE-AC68)

But i don´t think the bluescreens is because of the powersupply or overheating cause ive had this build for a really long time without any problems. And i haven´t overclocked my build yet. Som maybe it´s because of failing ram? Is there any way i can test my ram?

And the bluescreens seems to be random because when i booted up to write this i had no bluescreen.

Ok.

Which CPU do you have? i5-4600K does not exist.

Just because you've had the rig a while, does not mean it's not overheating (or has potential to, at least) or a PSU issue etc.. Are you monitoring your temps? HWMonitor is a great option for that. http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html

RAM can be testing with MemTest http://www.memtest86.com/

Which XFX 750W PSU do you have? Most (all?) XFX PSUs are made by SeaSonic, so highly unlikely to be the cause, but "XFX 750W" doesn't clarify.

Oh terrible sorry i meant the i5 4690k. ive used Hw monitor until you had to pay for it but i can download the free version again and send you a screenshot of my temps. ive used others along with Hwmonitor but i have never had any problems with my temps.

Um it is the xfx pro series 750W with 80+ Bronze certificate http://

Yeah, the free version will be fine - other (reputable) programs are ok too.

That;s a quality PSU. Unlikely to be the culprit by itself - although if you're in an area prone to less than stable electricity, or even lightning strikes, there's always the potential it's been damaged (although unlikely to manifest in the situations you've described).

i switched my power strip to a smaller one and after that, it have booted up 4 times without any bluescreens. Maybe that was the problem. il come back though if anything happens. thanks for your time tough:)

It crashed again...:(

sadly i still dont know why. im thinking of plugging the computer directly into the powerjacket on the wall and if it´s still crashes i assume i´ts because of the computer and not the electricity in my house
