I have a Toshiba PH3100U external drive that doesn't show up in My computer, device manager, or device magmt. Toshiba does not offer a driver for win7. How can I access the contents? I downloaded the XP mode and I can see the device there so I think it is working. However, XP thinks it is all kinds of things except a storage device (camera, bluetooth, etc). What can I do?

Solution
External hard drives don't require any drivers to work. If it's just the hard drive that doesn't work, but other things work in the USB, I'd say it's a bad drive. Try the drive on another computer and see if it works.
