Is it safe to use ASUS Optimal Mode in the UEFI BIOS with my intel core i7 5960X?

My specs are:
ASUS X99-A
32GB RAM
Intel Core i7 5960X clocked at 3.00 GHz turbo clock at 3.5 (no overclocking done)
MSI GTX 980ti 6GB GDDR5
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo

In my bios I have 3 power modes, power saving, normal, and asus optimal.
Is it safe to put it on asus optimal because I saw my turbo clock go above 3.5 up to a max of 3.8 GHz, and I read on the internet that this feature is not good because it plays around with your voltage, I just wanted to make sure, I have tested this mode before and it was stable (No crashes and restarts) and I used core temp to monitor temperatures, but not sure what a bad temperature is.

Solution
Yes it's safe, like any other approach to OCing, will want to monitor your temps. Optimal is basically full power, I normally just use the normal setting which is sufficient for about anything you might do

Yeah I usually just do gaming on my desktop but if I wanted to, would I see a significant increase in fps or just like a small increase and keep in mind Im not playing high resolution games, I am playing games that run on direct X 9/10

So I wouldent see a significant increase in frames on games? I do not play high resolution graphic intensive games, I was just wondering if It was helpful to set it to asus optimal to see my system run faster. will it? or I will barely see a difference in frames

ok thanks for your help Ill just keep it on normal because I dont think I see a difference if not a big difference in fact it may cause my games to stutter at some points
