Hi,
So basically I have my own custom built gaming rig which I built about a a year ago. Over the last month I have noticed my computer randomly cutting out and then restarting again. It sometimes restarting a and sometimes it just doesn't and keep retrying. I originally though it was the 24pins connector and maybe I hadn't pushed it in far enough however I was play a game recently and it suddenly turned off again but this time it had a distinct smell which is really bad. It is almost like something in my PC has popped or it smells like burning dust. I think It maybe the PSU however I'm just wondering what your guys theories are since I'm confused. My PSU is the RM650 Corsair btw. If anybody needs more information or can help please given an input.
Thanks a lot

I would take out the PSU right away if it is releasing smells that could mean that the RM650 is overheating. It could also be that the other connectors like the CPU 4pin (or 4+4 pin if running PC has two slots) are not connected firmly. Specs of pc?

Is there anyway of checking what's damaged and what not? I'm thinking of just ringing a local technician to see what can be done and try and get a replace PSU through corsair if it is that
