Currently I have:
An SSD (C: ) with Windows 8.1 installed on it
An HDD (D: )where I keep my personal files
I'd like to make this a dual boot machine with Linux installed on C:, but I'd like to keep the personal files I keep in the two environments separated: I mean, when I log on Windows and check my D: I can only see files I use on Windows, when I log on Linux and check my D: I only see files I saved from linux (so, basically, after my Linux fresh install I should open D: and see nothing). How do I do that?
Methods that don't involve formatting my current drives if possible.

I don't know if it's possible, but I'd like the opportunity of being able, if possible, to lift this separation momentarily if needed. For example: I'm on Linux, when I access my D: I see only stuff I saved there from Linux, but I really need something that it's in my Windows environment and I can't/don't want to reboot my machine, I just want to quickly lift the barrier between the two OS to directly copy what I need from Windows to Linux. Is this possible?
