I am thinking of getting a GeForce GTX 950 WindForce because its quite cheap on amazon and from what i have hear not to bad.

I am looking for a gpu that can run a game like gta 5 at 1080 and around high-very high settings.

Will this do, if not are there any better suggestions for around the same price

You wouldn't find the 380 or 380x for the same price. The 950 is a low-end card, and it won't last. Soon you will be wanting to upgrade, again.

I would save a little more money, and buy a R9 380 (or equivalent, the new AMD's are around the corner). You could even wait them to release the new ones and buy a used 380.
