Sorry, should have clarified. I am currently looking to buy the new components, the video card, cpu and power supply.

 

What is the maximum budget ?? I ask because im sorry to say but amd is just too much behind to warrant sticking with it.

dont waste money on the psu. your 550 will be plenty for gtx 980. instead use the $75 for an intel h170 motherboard and get a brand new i5 and not a two year old fx cpu.

Curious as to why I would need the memory when i already have 8gb memory cards though

 


Your current memory is ddr3 and new motherboard uses ddr4 they are incompatible.
and dont make same mistake of getting 1 stick again as it wont use dual channel use 2 sticks.
