Could I run Doom with overclocked FX-6300?

I had been excited for the release of the new Doom game on Steam, but checking its requirements left me a little disappointed because I meet every requirement for running it besides the CPU. I have an AMD FX-6300 running at stock speed, and an EVGA SSC GTX 960, but unfortunately the game requires an i5-2400 or equivalent. Since I looked up the stock speed of the 2400 and found it was only 3.1 GHz, I was wondering if I could overclock my 6300 (using a third party cooler of course) to its max of 4.1 and get the same or better performance. I'm not sure if it's the architecture or the clock speed holding me back, but any answers would be appreciated!

You should actually be able play it like you are right now. You'll notice some...

You should actually be able play it like you are right now. You'll notice some performance issues, but you should be okay. Your 6300 actually has a turbo boost on there that turbos the core to 4.1ghz when your CPU is under heavy load.

Really? Thank you, I had no clue about that. Do you know at what settings I'd be able to run it at 1080p on?
